| Description | A nonprofit, publicly funded corporation that provides primary health care services and encourages health promotion, provides support and information to those wishing to pursue or explore increasingly healthy lifestyles by taking responsibility for their own health and the health of their community Programs: * Primary Care * one on one consultation with either a physician, a nurse practitioner, a dietitian, a social worker, or a physiotherapist * Illness Prevention * involves services such as blood pressure screening, annual immunization against influenza and wellness visits * Health Promotion * a number of group programs are provided including Breastfeeding Buddies * Breathe Easy * Chronic Disease Self Management Program * Diabetes Management Program * Family Mentor Program * Play Group * Wednesday Teen Health Clinic * the library has books and videos available on health topics, self help, lobbying Copies of the Canada Food Guide and many other resources are available from their library There is a pharmacy on site | |||
