| Description | Responsible for public electrical safety in Ontario as designated by Ontario Regulation 164/99 * stand-alone not-for-profit corporation operating as an Administrative Authority under the Electricity Act 1998 * does wiring inspections for all new construction and renovations in the residential, commercial and industrial markets * electrical work must be inspected as required by the Ontario Electrical Safety Code * permits required 48 hours before starting work * issues inspection certificates * responds to reports of unapproved electrical equipment * publishes the Ontario Electrical Safety code every three years * provides Electrical Safety code Training * publishes Electrical Safety Tips for the public | |||
