| Description | Language instruction for newcomers to Canada including reading, writing, listening and speaking skills with free childcare for children aged 6 months to 5 years for those registered in the program * Settlement themes incorporated into program * levels 1 through 5 are offered * language assessment required prior to placement * to book an appointment for a language assessment call York Simcoe Language Assessment Services at 1-877-761-1155
Helps newcomers with their settlement by providing information and referral * provides information on social, educational, health, financial, cultural, legal and recreational services * referrals to education, government and community services * referral to interpreters
