DescriptionFormerly the Surrogate Court * probates wills of persons who die either testate (with a will) or intestate (without a will) * also deals with contested claims against estates and disputed wills trials * keeps copies of local probated wills that are less than 40 years old 
 
Local probated wills less than 20 years old are kept at this court * wills older than 20 years are kept in storage for 40 years and can be obtained through this office * requests for copies of local probated wills must be sent in writing to above address * send $10 to cover copying and mailing (photocopies $2 per page) * Ontario Archives keep copies of probated wills that are 60 years or older * call 416-965-4030
