| Description | Newborn infants are offered initial screening either in hospital or community clinics * infants who receive a 'refer' result on their first screening will receive a second more in depth screening * if the possibility of hearing loss is indicated, a specially trained Infant Audiologist will assess the infant * infants identified as hard of hearing or deaf will be provided with follow-up supports and services |
