DescriptionThe Youth program of the Canadian Red Cross is comprised of two components - Youth Action Group and Humanitarian Issues Promotion * The Youth Action Group investigates local and global social issues and international development and are committed to improving the lives of the most vulnerable, via awareness and fund raising events done at the branch or in the school setting with peers. * The Humanitarian Issues Promotion trains youth to deliver workshops on topics such as International Humanitarian Law, Landmines, Children and Armed Conflict, Social Justice, Diversity and Peace * through workshops, participants raise community awareness of local and global humanitarian issues and gain leadership and facilitation skills valuable in a variety of future work settings * Participation in the Youth program can help fulfill Community Service hours necessary for high school graduation
