| Description | The College of Optometrists of Ontario is the governing body for optometrists in Ontario. Its mission is to serve the public interest by guiding the profession of optometry. At the College, the goal of all activities is to ensure that patients have access to safe, ethical and high-quality optometric care.
The College is established by the provincial government and functions under the authority of the Regulated Health Professions Act, the Health Professions Procedural Code, and the Optometry Act and Regulations. Most of the work of the College is conducted under the direction of the Council by committees made up of optometrists and public members. |
