| Description & Services | ||||
| Description | Vision Statement: The Long-Term Care Program is developed by Metis people with the intent of providing services, support and information to those in need of assistance. Program services are provided with a Metis perspective with an open door policy to other people of aboriginal heritage. Our goal is to help persons remain in their homes for as long as possible, and to ease the burden of care provided by informal caregivers such as family members. The program will strive to develop a culturally specific component to ensure respect for the Aboriginal individuals who hold strong ties to their heritage. Services provided include Friendly visiting, care-giver support, aboriginal support service, escorted transportation and security checks. May help with acquisition of Medical Assistive Devices. | |||
