Description & Services
DescriptionSupport for Independent Living Program is a portable, intensive case management service. The person can choose to live anywhere in North Simcoe County and Wendat will provide a rehabilitation counsellor to visit them at home and help them with whatever they need to be successful in that living situation. They might help the person develop skills or supports to assist them with grocery shopping, organizing their banking, dealing with their landlord or anything else the person wants help with. Hours of service are flexible, are available seven days a week and are determined by the consumer in consultation with the support workers. Individuals involved with the program have a rehabilitation counsellor to help them develop and implement a rehabilitation plan related to their living environment. Rent supplements are available for some clients of this service. There is a waiting list for this service.
