Description & Services
DescriptionThis group of nearly two dozen interested people are dedicated to the development of an interactive, year round destination attraction to be built in the Rotary Park in the Town of Penetanguishene. The site would include a "Village Square" and eventually be surrounded by shops, micro manufacturing and service businesses. It would tell the story in an entertaining and technologically sophisticated manner, attracting educational and research institution partnerships. It would tell Penetanguishene's multi-faceted story from 1600 to 1945 from its native culture to its industrial supremacy in the early 1900's.
The main hall would be entered as though one is walking into Penetanguishene Bay with models, displays, interactive voice and visual stories of specific exhibits. Games, stories, illustrations and a small introductory theatre would assist in telling the town's story over more than four centuries. At present, Penetanguishene's council is supporting this initiative and has initiated Brownfield Studies to assess the environmental feasibility of creating such a facility on this site.
