Description & Services
DescriptionSimcoe County District School Board public schools with the Early Learning Program (ELP) will also offer before and after school care (subject to sufficient demand, on a fee-for-service basis) for children in all grades including grade 8. This optional program will run during the school year from 7 a.m. until bell time, and from bell time until 6 p.m. The program will run throughout the school year including non-instructional days where the child requires care during usual classroom hours for PD days and winter and March breaks.

By the 2014/15 school year all schools will be running full day kindergarten and the Extended Care Program will be offered. Actually running the Extended Care Program at any of these schools will be subject to sufficient demand, on a fee-for-service basis.

EligibilityAges: 4 year(s) and up
ApplicationKindergarten registration is usually in February. Parents should contact the school their child will attend. For registration proof of child's birth date (original Canadian Birth Certificate, Certificate of Canadian Citizenship, Canadian Passport, Permanent Residency Card, Record of Landing or Statement of Live Birth-long version), proof of child's home address and immunization records will be requested.

Non-Instructional Days  
* Full day program - 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. $33.50 (PD days, Christmas and March Break)  
* Parents/Guardians who are working, attending school or fulfilling a participation agreement with Ontario Works may be eligible for a subsidy to assist with these fees. To apply the Child Care Fee Subsidy call the Children and Community Services Department and speak with the Intake Screening Unit, at 705-722-3132, Option 4, or 905-729-4514, Option 4.
