| Description | The County of Simcoe manages the program and subsidy administration for the Non-Profit and Co-Op Housing programs as well as directly owning and managing Simcoe County Housing Corporation * administers rent geared to income housing * some units are completely accessible to those with physical disabilities * abused women and children needing permanent subsidized housing may be eligible for special priority when referred by Crisis Centres * also administers several Senior Citizen apartments * seniors may apply to live in rent geared to income senior apartments or adult housing apartments |

| Eligibility | General - filled by date of application * at least one member in household must be 16yrs and up * must be Canadian Citizen, Landed immigrant, or have Refugee Claimant Status and have no deportation order under the Immigration Act against any member of the household or no departure order or exclusion order under the Immigration Act * must be able to live independently * home owners must sell property within 6 months after being offered housing * must not owe arrears to any social housing provider or have misrepresented household income
Seniors - filled by date of application * 60yrs and up for seniors housing * filled according to needs basis * if total assets equal more than fifty thousand dollars, can apply but may not be eligible |
