DescriptionThe LIFT program, Life Skills and Independence for Teens is an independent living program for teens from 13 to 19 years. LIFT assists teens in developing attitudes and skills necessary to help them prepare for their future. Sessions include: How to plan, shop for and cook inexpensive nutritional meals; Importance of personal hygiene; Sexuality; Budgeting; How to apply for a Social Insurance Number, driver's licence, bank account, library card, etc.; Apartment hunting, room and board; responsibilities and rights; Social skills/relationships; Job search skills; Job readiness skills; Problem solving techniques; The importance of recreation and leisure; General community orientation; Communications - how to express oneself; understanding others. Services include a Teen food bank. Other LIFT programs include START- a Skill Development Program for Grades 3-9 that includes: goal setting, communication, anger management and conflict resolution.  
BullySMART: a program designed to help you be smart about facing bullying. Offered from grade 3 to 9 and runs for approximately 5 one hour sessions. Topics include: what is bullying, defines victim, bystander and bully, skills to address the issue, the role of the bystander, recognizes strengths, peer pressure, friendship and respect.
