Select one or two aspects of the planning in which to become involved: media, draw prizes, entertainment,warm-up exercises, refreshments, registration, etc.
Health Fairs, Community Displays	Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County, Barrie Head Office		* assist in promoting the programs and services of the Society to the attendees of the Health Fair.   * provide basic information about Alzheimer's disease.   * direct people to appropriate community support services.    Volunteers:  * Pick up display and brochures at the Society offices or an agreed to location.   * Set up the display as per the Procedures listed in the Health Fair Resource Manual.   * Answer general questions and distribute information about the programs and services of the Society.   * Refer individuals to appropriate community support services.   * Take down the display, pack up the brochures and return the display and brochures to the Society offices or an agreed to location.   * Complete the Evaluation Form located in the Health Fair Resource Manual

MS Walk Planning Committee Volunteer Member	Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Simcoe County Chapter		The MS Walk is the MS Society of Canada’s single largest fundraising event. We are looking for dedicated individuals to assist with planning this amazing event that focuses on inspiring and empowering walkers to take action in raising funds and joining the movement to end MS.   The MS Walk Committee is typically made up of many different individuals with varied experiences and chaired by an experienced volunteer who works with all committee members to ensure everyone is working together to reach common goals and having the best experience possible. An MS Society staff person also sits on the committee to assist with planning and acts as a main resource.   There are a variety of different positions available such as TeamMS Coordinator, Recruitment and Stewardship Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Local Sponsorship Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator, Promotions Coordinator, Entertainment Coordinator and many more! The entire committee works together to establish goals, time frames and responsibilities to ensure everyone’s needs and availabilities are kept in mind. Committees meet monthly from January- May.    Volunteers are needed in New Tecumseth, Collingwood, Midland, Orillia and Barrie.
Organizing Committee Member	Library Garden Tour, North Simcoe		Committee members perform a variety of tasks necessary to the organizing and delivery of the annual Library Garden Tour. Tasks include promotion, administration, fundraising, liaison with participating libraries and individuals whose gardens will be included in the tour.
Walk for ALS Coordinator	ALS Society of Ontario, Simcoe/York Region		The WALK Coordinator is the primary volunteer responsible for organizing the WALK in their community, leading and communicating with the WALK committee members and ALS Ontario staff. He/she provides guidance and support to event volunteers. Their main responsibilities include recruiting and supporting their volunteer WALK Committee as they prepare for the WALK for ALS.   RESPONSIBILITIES:   *Select and secure a WALK site and register the WALK with ALS Ontario   *Applying for the permit to Parks and Recreation Dept. of your municipality and completing the necessary paperwork   *Arrange for a certificate of insurance from ALS Ontario   *Liaise with ALS Ontario and attend training meeting   *Recruit volunteer leaders who will assist in organizing the WALK and sit on the WALK Committee, primarily the Team Chair   *To provide the relevant sections and position description of the WALK Manual to Committee, to assist them in carry out their responsibilities   *Prepare WALK budget   *Support WALK Committee throughout organizational process   *Chair WALK Meetings and distribute meeting minutes
Aids Committee Volunteer	AIDS Committee of Simcoe County, Barrie Office		Volunteers assist with:   * Special events (World AIDS Day, Fundraisers, Annual campaigns)  * Bingo   * Youth Initiatives  * Support Groups  * Peer Mentoring  * Community Awareness & Education activities   * Volunteers are also needed to sit on our Board Directors.
Theatre Volunteer	King's Wharf Theatre, Operated by Drayton Entertainment		Volunteers are needed as ushers, greeters, for assistance with special events or to provide housing/accommodation for cast members.

Barrie Out of the Cold Volunteer	Barrie Out of the Cold		Each evening a team of volunteers provide a hot dinner, a sleeping mat, a light breakfast and a warm welcome to anyone in need. Volunteers needed to be Team Leaders, Member of a team, to make meals, casseroles, cookies and desserts.    If you wish to volunteer we ask that you do so by using the on-line application form that is on our website.
Board Member	Midland-Penetanguishene District Community Emergency Response Team		Attend monthly meetings to ensure proper administration of finances and resources, plan activities and budgets and do fundraising and outreach.
Community Council Member	Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Midland and District, Domestic Shelter and Adoption Centre		Business minded volunteer fundraisers needed to help plan, execute and implement fundraising and awareness initiatives.
Epilepsy Society Volunteer	Epilepsy (Ontario) Simcoe County		Volunteers can assist with administrative duties, fundraising, bingo, special events, information distribution, puppet shows or other activities.
Fundraising Assistant	Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Midland and District, Domestic Shelter and Adoption Centre		Assisting staff and other volunteers at fundraising events such as bingos, tag days and dog walk a thon's. See website for other opportunities.
Special Events Volunteers	Easter Seal Society (The), Ontario Central Region Office		Special Events Volunteers ensure the effective implementation of Special Events Initiatives within the area. Duties include: promoting events, liaising with all community partners, recruit new groups and organizations to carry out activities, locating sponsors, etc
Volunteers	Orillia and District Arts Council		The Orillia and District Arts Council welcomes volunteers to assist with office duties such as updating and maintaining the ODAC website, answering telephones and reception as well as to distribute posters and newsletters. We also need volunteers for events such as the Village of the Arts (early July), Hot food Cool Art (February) and other future events. Please call for more information.
