Health Fairs, Community DisplaysAlzheimer Society of Simcoe County, Barrie Head Office        * assist in promoting the programs and services of the Society to the attendees of the Health Fair.  
* provide basic information about Alzheimer's disease.

Volunteers: 
* Pick up display and brochures at the Society offices or an agreed to location.  
* Set up the display as per the Procedures listed in the Health Fair Resource Manual.  
* Answer general questions and distribute information about the programs and services of the Society.

MS Walk Planning Committee Volunteer MemberMultiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Simcoe County Chapter   The MS Walk is the MS Society of Canada’s single largest fundraising event. We are looking for dedicated individuals to assist with planning this amazing event that focuses on inspiring and empowering walkers to take action in raising funds and joining the movement to end MS.  
The MS Walk Committee is typically made up of many different individuals with varied experiences and chaired by an experienced volunteer who works with all committee members to ensure everyone is working together to reach common goals and having the best experience possible. An MS Society staff person also sits on the committee to assist with planning and acts as a main resource.  
There are a variety of different positions available such as TeamMS Coordinator, Recruitment and Stewardship Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Local Sponsorship Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator, Promotions Coordinator, Entertainment Coordinator and many more! The entire committee works together to establish goals, time frames and responsibilities to ensure everyone’s needs and availabilities are kept in mind. Committees meet monthly from January- May. 
 
Volunteers are needed in New Tecumseth, Collingwood, Midland, Orillia and Barrie.
Organizing Committee MemberLibrary Garden Tour, North Simcoe   Committee members perform a variety of tasks necessary to the organizing and delivery of the annual Library Garden Tour. Tasks include promotion, administration, fundraising, liaison with participating libraries and individuals whose gardens will be included in the tour.
Walk for ALS CoordinatorALS Society of Ontario, Simcoe/York RegionThe WALK Coordinator is the primary volunteer responsible for organizing the WALK in their community, leading and communicating with the WALK committee members and ALS Ontario staff. He/she provides guidance and support to event volunteers. Their main responsibilities include recruiting and supporting their volunteer WALK Committee as they prepare for the WALK for ALS.  
RESPONSIBILITIES:  
*Select and secure a WALK site and register the WALK with ALS Ontario  
*Applying for the permit to Parks and Recreation Dept. of your municipality and completing the necessary paperwork  
*Arrange for a certificate of insurance from ALS Ontario  
*Liaise with ALS Ontario and attend training meeting  
*Recruit volunteer leaders who will assist in organizing the WALK and sit on the WALK Committee, primarily the Team Chair  
*To provide the relevant sections and position description of the WALK Manual to Committee, to assist them in carry out their responsibilities  
*Prepare WALK budget  
*Support WALK Committee throughout organizational process  
*Chair WALK Meetings and distribute meeting minutes

Barrie Out of the Cold VolunteerBarrie Out of the Cold Each evening a team of volunteers provide a hot dinner, a sleeping mat, a light breakfast and a warm welcome to anyone in need. Volunteers needed to be Team Leaders, Member of a team, to make meals, casseroles, cookies and desserts.
