| Description | Mission Statement: To serve the Community by providing protection from fire, life threatening emergencies and dangerous conditions through education, prevention, rescue, suppression and basic life support services. Provides * public education * fire suppression and fire safety programs. Events include annual 'Fire Prevention Week' held in October. Open Fire violations fall under municipal by-laws and a burning permit; available from the municipal offices at 10 Robert St. W., is required for any open fire. Failure to apply for permit could result in prosecution. Smoke alarms are required on every floor of a house or apartment unit and must be maintained by the occupant or owner. | |||
